PHNOM PENH: The Mizuda Sanitation Company intends to expand investment in waste-to-energy generation in Phnom Penh, while in about three years the company has been recognized by the authorities and the general public.

On the morning of January 29, Prime Minister Hun Manet held a meeting with Mizuda Group President Shan Jianming and his colleagues at the Peace Palace.

The businessman informed the PM of Mizuda’s success in Cambodia, saying that it has been recognized by the authorities and the general public over the last three years for providing excellent cleaning, collection and transportation services in Phnom Penh. He noted that his company also provides awareness programs on waste management around Phnom Penh and that it has created 710 jobs for Cambodians.

The Mizuda President also told the PM about the company’s plans to expand its investment in waste-to-energy generation in Phnom Penh with the latest advanced technology and environmental protections.

Prime Minister Hun Manet appreciated the good cooperation between Mizuda Sanitation and Phnom Penh Capital Hall to provide waste management services in the capital. He noted that their efforts have improved public well-being in addition to Phnom Penh’s environment.

He asked that the Mizuda President reach out to the Cambodian government’s relevant ministries and institutions to discuss investment in waste-to-energy technology, especially the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Environment and the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).
